Job Overview

The Program Manager serves as a key member of the Academic Operations department and is responsible for ensuring the successful management of various administrative practices for degree-seeking programs at the School of Continuing Studies.

They provide key support to students through onboarding to registration in the first semester of matriculation at the School of Continuing Studies; and are responsible for administrative practices to encourage students to accept enrollment and register in their first semester.

The Program Manager has operational responsibility, which facilitates administration for academic programs and supports academic course scheduling, as well as the development and management of a communications strategy for academic programs within their cluster.

They collaborate with program staff and faculty when supporting student initiatives - including oversight and management of the event creation process for the cluster and the department - and involving ideation, logistics, catering, and coordination with the SCS Events Team.

The Program Manager has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Interactions

  • Assistant and Associate Deans and Faculty Directors - work with assistant and associate deans and faculty directors to design, develop course schedules, student advising structures, student experience events, and beyond
  • SCS Academic Operations- work with the department on strategies for operational initiatives focused on student experience
  • SCS Enrollment Management - work with SCS Enrollment Management to liaise on goals, strategies, processes, and issues that arise. Collaborate on specific enrollment issues involving courses or programs
  • SCS Events Team--work with the SCS Events Team on various academic, professional, and social events
  • Faculty, Staff, Students - manage the communication and service strategy with faculty and students within the academic programs. All SCS employees are required to support Tropaia and Commencement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 three years of administrative experience - preference for Student Affairs experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including comfort with public presentations to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff, and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Commitment to the mission of the School of Continuing Studies, and the vision of Dean
  • A sense of humor and a desire to work with a variety of people in expanding the work of the SCS
  • Fluency in all Microsoft office products
